- 14/Jun/2012 09:46
The city of Verona comes to life every evening from June-September as hundreds of people flock to the city centre to watch the opera in the magnificent open air arena.
Seated on cushions on the huge steps of the arena, the relaxed atmosphere is like no other opera. Surrounded by people from all walks of life, some locals and some tourists. There are couples enjoying a romantic evening, there are families introducing their older children to opera for the fisrt time, and there are the locals who have bought with them a small picnic of wine and cheese to enjoy during the performance.
The 2012 season will see 6 operas performed in the arena and with tickets starting from as little as €27.50 for seats on the stone steps, this is an experience everyone should enjoy at least once in their lifetime.
