Attracting audiences of over 100,000, the New Zealand International Film Festival is the ultimate celebration of film. Opening in Auckland showing a programme of 150-170 features, the festival then moves on to Wellington, from then a shorter programme travels to a further 12 locations around the country.
Originally set up as a fund-raising event to support local live arts, the festival is well known for supporting
New Zealand
film makers. The festival is still thought to be one of the best opportunities to see new independent films and also to have your own film shown to large numbers of the public.
